Frequently Asked Questions

Our most commonly asked questions answered below:

  • Plants naturally enhance the aesthetics of the built environment, and the health benefits are well documented:

Research found introducing plants to the workplace lowered tension and anxiety levels 37%, while reducing feelings of anger by 44%. Additionally, fatigue was shown to have been reduced by 38%. Biophilic additions to the workplace can reduce absenteeism, boost productivity, and improve employee retention.

In addition, offices with interiorscape installs enjoy plants and Living Walls:

—as focal points, adding aesthetic improvement to the space,

    — to bring life to impersonal, industrial or dull spaces,

—as a natural way to improve acoustics in open-concept design,

—and to direct traffic flow or act as natural privacy screens.

Planters can also unify large spaces through the repetition of plant or container color or shape.

  • The cost of one floor plant is less than $2 per workday. Interiorscaped companies are percieved to be more successful and have a higher quality merchandise, which makes adding plants one of the most cost-effective investments a company can make.

  • Research suggests one 8” nursery pot or larger plant per 100 sq. feet can provide a healthier indoor environment.

Unlike HVAC air filters which only trap toxins, living plants eliminate air born toxins from the environment, breaking down harmful air pollutants (known as volatile organic compounds or VOC’s) from building materials and office equipment. Having more than the minimum number of recommended indoor plants has the potential for even greater health benefits.

  • Containers should be commercial grade, which resist chips, cracks, and dings from vacuums, carts, etc.

Biome designers have access to beautiful containers for every style, color, size, and shape. We can deliver and set up containers that will enhance your workspace and your aesthetics.

  • As the plant experts, Biome chooses a location based on aesthetics and environmental factors (light, vents, temperature, etc). If plants are moved without Biome’s knowledge, the client could incur additional costs due to plant decline, mishandling, or neglect. If a plant cannot be located by our technician, it will not be serviced.
